As the autumn season takes hold, an increasing number of tourists are making their way to the Himalayan trekking destinations in Rasuwa, Nepal.
The footpaths leading to the Tamang heritage areas, including Gosaikunda and Langtang, are witnessing a steady influx of visitors, all seeking to immerse themselves in the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayan landscapes. With the waning of the rainy season and improving weather conditions, trekking has become particularly inviting. Tourists are drawn to this region not only for its pristine mountain vistas but also for the opportunity to savor simple and organic cuisine while taking in panoramic views from elevated vantage points.
Pramod Bhattarai, the Chief Conservation Officer of Langtang National Park, reported that from July to October 20, a total of 10,770 domestic and foreign tourists explored the Langtang area and paid homage at the holy shrine of Gosainkund as part of their Himalayan trek.
Among these visitors, 62 were from SAARC countries, 1,652 hail from various nations, including the United States, Australia, and Germany, and 9,056 were domestic tourists. Sunil Raut, the park's ranger, disclosed that the park collected a revenue of Rs. 45 lakh through regular entry fees paid by tourists exploring the park's expanse.
The Langtang National Park authorities have earnestly appealed to tourists to refrain from cutting vegetation for walking sticks, to dispose of their waste only in designated areas, and to avoid any harm or pursuit of wildlife encountered along the trekking routes.
Ram Sharan Gajurel, District President of the Tourism Hotel Business Association, assured tourists of the availability of reliable accommodations and food options for those venturing to Gosaikunda, Tamang Sampada, and Langtang. The strengthening of hospitality infrastructure has been completed to cater to the needs of visitors.
Assistant Conservation Officer Milan Sapkota revealed that the Langtang National Park Office has generated revenue, which includes tourist fees, fees from hotels operating within the park, and income from helicopter landings, from July to October 20 of the current year.
Tourists exploring Rasuwa have been enchanted by the natural wonders such as Ukali, Orali, and Bhanjyang Chautari, locally sourced agricultural cuisine, vibrant Tamang cultural dances, traditional attire, and the resplendent Langtang mountains gleaming from Setamme. Due to its proximity to the federal capital, Kathmandu, Rasuwa has become the preferred destination for many travellers seeking an unforgettable Himalayan experience._Rss
