One of the holiest Hindu sites in Nepal, Pashupatinath Temple has always attracted crowds of devout religious worshippers to pray and meditate around the premises of the monument. During Nepal's third wave with the Omicron variant, the Pashupatinath Area was closed off to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.
Now after three weeks of lockdown, the Pashupatinath Area Development Area Trust has been opened the area around the holy site. This decision by the trust has been under the District Administration Office's order, on Febuary 7, that worship, meditation or prayer can be done in places like monasteries, temples, mosques, churches under public health standards and protocols.
