Two years of chaos and disruption of COVID-19 and its variants, with a lot of the world trying to take a step towards normalcy, Papua New Guinea is the latest country to relax travel restrictions in order to attract international tourists.
From now onwards, international tourists who have been fully-vaccinated and received the recommended booster vaccine will be able to enter the country. But there will still be mandatory to have a negative COVID-19 under 72 hours of arrival and all visitors will be re-tested.
For domestic air travel, passengers will have their temperature checked and will need to fill a National Department of Health form. Also, visa on arrival are not currently there, so visa must be made by tourists prior to their travel.
This has also been paired up with COVID-19 restrictions no longer applying to public transport but public gatherings are restricted to 100 people; religious gatherings, schools, educational institutions, markets and shopping centers are exempt from this policy.
