An exciting 'Golf Challenge' is set to unfold with the ambitious goal of establishing a world record at the renowned 'Mustang Golf Course,' nestled in the heart of Lomanthang rural municipality in upper Mustang.
During a press conference held in Pokhara, it was announced that the second edition of this unique golf tournament will be held on September 16, hosted at an extraordinary elevation of 4,645 meters above sea level.
Indradhara Bista, the former member of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly and coordinator of the Provincial Golf Association, revealed that this prestigious event is being organized in partnership with Lomanthang Rural Municipality. A total of 40 skilled golf players hailing from Pokhara, Kathmandu, Dharan, Butwal, and various other cities are gearing up to participate in this remarkable tournament.
What sets the Mustang Golf Course apart is its distinction as the highest-altitude golf course globally. However, it is yet to be officially recognized in the 'Guinness World Records.' Currently, the Yak Golf Course in Sikkim, India, situated at an altitude of 3,970 meters, holds the title of the highest-altitude golf course known.
