The Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Management Council and Samrid Pahad will coordinate to organize a program for the promotion of tourism to increase the number of tourists.

A master plan is being developed to promote tourism in the Kanchenjunga region by connecting it with modern technology. Prosperous Hills, in collaboration with the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Management Council, is working on the plan.

The plan will target Yasang, Kengsra, Torongden, Andhafedi, Cheram, and Ramjer under the tourist path in the southern region of the Kanchenjunga area. Sir Gram Wrigley, Chairman of the Himalayan Trust UK, has provided financial support for the program. He recently visited the Kanchenjunga conservation area and discussed the development model for tourism promotion in the region with council officials. He also interacted with the chairmen of the committees under the respective councils in Torongden and Cheram, as well as in the areas leading to the southern base camp.

Word Link's technicians for internet services in the area have conducted a study for Wi-Fi services in Yamfudin, Lasse, Nayazhoreni, Kasturi Danda, Torongden, Andhafedi, Cheram, Ramjer, and Oktang areas. The study included feasibility studies for drinking water, toilets, hotels and lodges, tea shops, camp sites, footpaths, rest houses, electricity, waste management, bridge cleaning, helipads, and other aspects.

The goal is to develop the area as a modern tourism destination. Although Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world and the second highest mountain in Nepal, the number of tourists visiting the area is low. The Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Management Council and Samrid Pahad will coordinate to organize a program for the promotion of tourism to increase the number of tourists.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of tourists visiting the area has decreased. Last year, 543 foreign tourists visited Kanchenjunga. This year, as the tourist season begins, tourist activity has started to be seen in the area._Rss
