Japan’s strict border restrictions will be loosen next month

The prime minister declared, allowing tourists to comfortably enter for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

The number of tourists has been gradually increased this year and visa requirements that were imposed in response to the pandemic will be rescinded.Japan’s strict COVID-19 restrictions have sent many visitors plummeting and its tourism industry reeling. Foreign tourists were welcomed back in June but the reopening has been confusing to many visitors.

Many countries have already dropped the pandemic travel rules but Japan persisted in travel rules. The countries having looser rules like South Korea and Thailand, tourists have shifted vacations to these countries.  

Prime minister called for reform of U.N Security Council and dismissed any scepticism about Japan’s increased military spending as “peace-loving nation”.

“Independent tourists would be welcomed but not just those travelling with authorised groups” said Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

 “The country appears to be returning to normal. A campaign aimed at bolstering the tourism industry would arise offering many discounts. We hope that many citizens will take advantage” said the prime minister.

 “Japan would ‘boldly take necessary steps’ to combat excessive fluctuation of the yen, which has dropped to its lowest level against the U.S dollar in more than two decades.” He added._AP news
