Checking numbers with pre-pandemic, there has been an increase of 11 per cent, the fastest increase in any two weeks since the pandemic began

With the world opening up and international travel and tourism revving back up to speed, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has recorded that there has been growing momentum in the recovery of air travel all over the world.

The recent data and numbers have shown a sharp 11 per cent increase in international tickets sold in recent weeks. Checking numbers with pre-pandemic, there has been an increase of 11 per cent, the fastest increase in any two weeks since the pandemic began.

But while the path to normalcy is slowly opening, there are still major hurdles yet to be overcome. IATA has said that thirteen of the top 50 travel markets still do not provide easy access to fully vaccinated travellers. This includes major economies like China, Russia, Japan, Indonesia, Italy and many more.
