The 5th edition of the Himalayan Travel Mart, set for June 3–5 in Kathmandu, will bring together over 700 tourism professionals from more than 30 countries to celebrate Nepal’s tourism achievements and foster global partnerships under the theme 'Nepal: Gateway to the Himalayas'.

Kathmandu, May 26, 2025 — The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Airlines Corporation, and leading tourism organizations at both national and international levels, is proud to announce the 5th edition of the Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM). Scheduled to take place from June 3 to 5, 2025, at The Soaltee Kathmandu, HTM is Nepal’s premier international travel and tourism trade show. This year’s event marks a decade of impactful contributions by the PATA Nepal Chapter toward the development of Nepal’s tourism industry and global connectivity. The inauguration holds special significance as it coincides with the Golden Jubilee Anniversary of the PATA Nepal Chapter and 75th anniversary of the first ascent of Mount Annapurna by the legendary French Mountaineer Maurice Herzog, with the family of legendary mountaineer Maurice Herzog visiting Nepal to honor this milestone.

The Chairperson of the organizing committee emphasized that tourism is not only vital for economic growth but also fosters harmony and brotherhood among communities. The CEO of PATA Nepal Chapter highlighted that HTM stands as Nepal’s most prominent tourism event, showcasing the strength of public-private collaboration in advancing the sector. Additionally, a senior manager from the Nepal Tourism Board underlined HTM’s role in showcasing Nepal as a global leader in MICE tourism.

HTM serves as Nepal’s flagship tourism trade event, fostering unparalleled networking, business opportunities, and knowledge exchange among global tourism professionals, hospitality organizations, media, influencers, and travel experts. The 2025 edition is expected to attract over 700 delegates from more than 30 countries, including over 100 international guests, alongside a strong representation from Nepal’s public and private tourism sectors. Under the theme “Nepal: Gateway to the Himalayas,” HTM 2025 aims to position Nepal as a premier, year-round travel destination. The event will provide a dynamic platform for destination promotion, dialogue, and partnership, focusing on enhancing insightful conference sessions, destination marketing, and mutually rewarding business opportunities between hosted buyers and registered sellers.

Nepal’s natural landscapes are uniquely beautiful and well-preserved by nature itself, unlike many countries where such wonders are artificially created. Tourism in Nepal is deeply rooted in the cultural philosophy of Atithi Devo Bhava—“The guest is God”—which reflects the genuine hospitality and respect extended to visitors. As a traditional greeting, Namaskar signifies, “My soul honors and respects your soul,” embodying the warmth and sincerity of Nepalese hospitality.

Program highlights of HTM 2025 include curated Pre-Mart Familiarization Tours for international delegates to explore Nepal’s key destinations like Kathmandu, Chitwan, Pokhara, and cultural sites in the Valley. The HTM Conference, themed “Mountains, Milestones, and Momentum,” will feature global speakers discussing topics from sustainable tourism to emerging trends. The Buyers & Sellers Meet will bring together organizations from across Asia and the Gulf region for impactful networking and business opportunities.

HTM 2025 is made possible with the invaluable support of key partners including the Nepal Tourism Board as the organizing partner, Nepal Airlines Corporation as the official airline partner, The Soaltee Kathmandu as the official venue, and VISA as the global payment partner. Other notable partners include Ncell (communication), CIWEC Hospital & Travel Medicine Center (health), Turkish Airlines (international airline), Buddha Air (domestic airline), Manakamana Cable Car (spirituality experience), HighGround Adventures Nepal (adventure), Sustainable Tourism Project (sustainability), WWF Nepal (conservation), and Hilton Kathmandu (premium hospitality), among many others.
