Himalaya Airlines, as part of its ongoing "Step Towards Education" campaign under Corporate Social Responsibility, has made a significant contribution to Lowa Prasad Bal Griha, a non-governmental and non-political organization operated by Lowa Prasad Sudhar Sangh that cares for orphaned and underprivileged children.
During a heartfelt handover ceremony at the orphanage's premises on August 3, 2023, President Mr. Zhou Enyong presented a generous check of Rs. 3,96,000/- to the chairperson, Ms. Usha Karki. Along with the cash donation, the airline also donated kitchen cutlery sets, sketchbooks, and various sports games like Cricket sets, Carrom Boards, Badminton sets, basketballs, Ludo, skipping ropes, Hula Hoops, etc., aiming to uplift the lives of the resident children. The organization, situated in Sundarijal, currently provides shelter, education, care, and a nurturing environment to a total of 13 children.
The funds received will be utilized to renovate the kitchen and dining area of the building, creating a more conducive and comfortable living space for the children and ensuring a healthy and homely environment.
"Himalaya Airlines has always been committed to basing in Nepal and serving in Nepal.' Since its establishment, the airline has been actively contributing to society. Through this donation to Lowa Prasad Bal Griha, we aspire to provide better living and accommodation conditions to the children here, nurturing them to become valuable contributors to the nation's future," remarked Mr. Zhou Enyong, President of Himalaya Airlines.
Expressing her gratitude, Ms. Usha Karki welcomed the airline's gesture of donating sports equipment to encourage the children's interest in various sports activities. "We are immensely thankful to Himalaya Airlines for their caring contribution to our organization. Their generosity will significantly improve the lives of the children under our care," she said.
Himalaya Airlines has consistently prioritized its corporate social responsibility initiatives. Over the past seven years, the airline has extended its support to Prayas Nepal, a home for orphaned and underprivileged children, by providing various educational and essential supplies annually.
