The Bhaktapur District Administration Office organized discussions with relevant agencies and stakeholders to coordinate the management of the Bisket Jatra festival. Led by Chief District Officer (CDO) Roshani Kumari Shrestha, a collaborative meeting was held, attended by representatives from the police, government offices, Guthi Sansthan, procession organizers, political figures, local clubs, and other stakeholders.
In a proactive measure, the Metropolitan Police Range announced the temporary closure of liquor shops for the duration of the procession. Chief District Officer Shrestha also confirmed the installation of CCTV cameras along key routes and intersections where the Jatra activities will take place. He issued a stern warning against any disruptions to the event, emphasizing that strict actions would be taken against offenders.
The joint responsibility for maintaining peace and security during the festival period falls upon the Bhaktapur District Administration Office and the District Police Range. The Guthi Sansthan Branch Office in Bhaktapur has been tasked with ensuring timely arrangements for all rituals and festivities associated with the Bisket Jatra.
Precautionary measures include the management of cables and wires along the Jatra route, with provisions for ambulance services, fire engines, and disaster response equipment at all city hospitals under the supervision of the Nepal Red Cross Society, Bhaktapur.
Volunteer mobilization efforts will be facilitated by the Nepal Scouts in densely populated areas on April 12, 13, and 17, contributing to crowd management and safety initiatives.
