Jamaica's minister of tourism Nayef Himiedi Al-Fayez and Edumand Barlett, the founders of Global Tourism Resilience & Crisis Management Centre arrived in Jordan to inaugurate the new location for basing its organization. This new location in the Middle East has been referred to as Taleb Rifai Centre. 

This new location inauguration in Jordan marks the sixth satellite centre of the GTRCMC location following its original launch in Jamaica. The debut location is the Middle Eastern University in Jordan with the centre being under the leadership of Salam Almahadin, the president of the university.

The Jordan tourism ministry thinks that this initiative will help play a key role in delivering resilience, robustness and agility to the Jordanian tourism industry which accounts for 13 per cent of the GDP. GTCRMC has said that the Middle Eastern University has been an outstanding partner and will be a regional driver for further expansion in the Middle East and North Africa. 

With GTRCMC being the first academic centre dedicated to addressing the crises and resilience of the travel industry, this partnership has been a part of its multi-tier international campaign to build resilience in the global travel industry through the expansion of centres and services and services and important travel markets.
