Five-point appeal presented to the government by tour operators
Seeing the COVID cases in Nepal plummet in recent days, four tour operators of significant status has issued a five-point appeal to the government to adhere to in the coming days. This appeal was presented to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation as well as COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) as the points concerned the above-mentioned agencies.
The appeal was jointly signed by Bijay Amatya, managing director of Kora Tours; Deenam Lamichhane, general manager of Sita World Travels (Nepal); Raj Gyawali, president of Socialtours; Binod Adhikari, president of Aarya Village Tours and Suman Pandey, president of Explore Himalaya Travels and Adventures.
They have stated to the government in the appeal to lift the provision of presenting information for all passengers, especially for fully vaccinated during arrival and exit. While the passengers are unvaccinated, they should be required to take a PCR test within 72 hours of arrival.
The third point of the appeal urges the concerned agencies to make the PCR test optional for passengers who had contracted the coronavirus between two weeks and 90 days before arrival. In the case of the people leaving the country, the tour operators have made their case to the government to only seek documents from passengers based on the destination country - the policies put in place by transit and respective airline companies.
The last point of the appeal has been for the CCMC to implement and provision of filling out an online form for anyone that wants to travel to and from Nepal. Five-point appeal presented to the government by tour operators
