The EC recommended all the member nations to life all testing and quarantine requirements for people who received vaccines authorized in the EU or approved by the WHO

With many international organizations like UNWTO, WHO, IATA advising for further easing of restrictions, the European Union (EU) has also joined them with all the 27 member representatives in the European Council (EC) agreeing to further facilitate tourist travel for people who are vaccinated or are fully recovered from COVID-19.

The EC recommended all the member nations to life all testing and quarantine requirements for people who received vaccines authorized in the EU or approved by the WHO. Any travellers or visitors to EU member nations with the last dose of their vaccination between 14-270 days after their last dose or booster shot would be eligible for travel.

In addition to this, anyone who has recovered from COVID-19 within 180 days of travel is also eligible. The EC also advised the countries to drop all testing and additional requirements against children under six years of age who are travelling with an adult. The only caveat is that anyone who has taken a vaccine approved by the WHO but not authorized for use in the EU may still be asked to present a negative PCR test or be required to quarantine.

But with this agreement being non-binding, it is still in the air whether all of the 27 countries will comply with this agreement. The EU has notified that the updates will facilitate further travel into Europe and take into account the evolution of the pandemic.
