People returning home after staying under quarantine for 14 days must stay in home quarantine for one more week even though they did not have infection of coronavirus.
As per the National Guidelines-2020 for the Lab Test of COVID-19 issued by the Ministry of Health and Population, individuals coming home from foreign countries and those in quarantine should stay in home quarantine for the given time despite the fact that they lack COVID-19 symptoms.
Ministry’s health expert Dr Khem Karki said that such a directive was issued to make the test systematic.
