Traditionally planned houses are being built in the historically significant town of Panauti under the Panauti municipality.

In the first phase, 73 houses have been made heritage-friendly out of 1,040 houses in the heritage area located in Ward No. 7 of the city. The municipality's office is providing financial assistance to encourage locals. Incentive funds are released under incentive Standard-2077 regarding the preservation of heritage style private buildings in the area and upgrading the exterior concealment.

According to Indra Prasad Adhikari, the senior administrative officer of the municipality, "The heritage area office has been working to obtain the final approval from the concerned authority to complete the housing map and ample the housing map for the construction of heritage-friendly structures."
