414 individuals have been granted permission to climb Mount Everest, the world's tallest peak, during this spring season. These climbers consist of 75 women and 339 men, organized into 41 different mountaineering groups. Last year, the number of climbers who received permission was 478.
According to Chun Bahadur Tamang, a Section Officer at the Department of Tourism, a total of 971 mountaineers belonging to 112 climbing groups have been granted permission to ascend 30 different mountains, including Mount Everest, this season.
The revenue from mountaineering permissions has reached Rs 674.7 million so far, with Mount Everest alone contributing Rs 592.3 million to this total.
