34,949 tourists visit Nepal in January

According to the latest data from the Department of Immigration, the government body has reported that about 16,975 travellers visited Nepal from 150 countries. This has shown the recovery in the recent months in the tourism sector which has been battered and bruised by the two years of the pandemic. 

In addition, the data shows out of the total number of people who visited Nepal, 10,810 were males while 6,157 females visited Nepal with 8 people being unknown. In the criteria of the country of origin, about 3,257 tourists arrived in Nepal from the United States. Moreover, 1,293 international tourists were from Australia, 1,236 from Bangladesh, 329 from China, 365 from Germany, 3,916 from India, 1,824 from the UK.

Likewise, 17,984 international tourists left the country in January. With this, as many as 34,949 international tourists flocked to Nepal during the same month.
