Three people from Sindhupalchowk District are in quarantines after authorities confirmed that they returned to Nepal in the same aircraft with the 19-year-old female student, who tested positive for COVID-19 after arriving from France via Qatar.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhav Kafle of Sindhupalchowk confirmed that the three people had travelled in the same plane that the lady did. Of the three, one is in home quarantine, another at the White Gumba at Jorpati, Kathmandu and the third at the Swyambhu-based quarantine facility of Nepal Electricity Authority, coordinator of the District Coordination Committee Sindhupalchowk, Krishna Gopal Tamang shared.
Tamang said that the family members of the individuals have also been asked to stay in-home quarantine. Likewise, a 35-year-old woman from Melamchi Municipality-6, who came home from UAE via India and Kathmandu, is under the doctors’ surveillance, according to Police Inspector Phal Bahadur Tamang. Furthermore, two India returned youth of Bansbari area of Melamchi-12 were taken to a health care centre for medical tests after they were found roaming about in the village, Inspector Tamang added.
Similarly, three Dubai returnees have been kept in home quarantine after medical checkups in the District Hospital, Tamang shared.
