In the renowned Annapurna trekking region, a total of 177,182 foreign tourists have visited over the past ten months, with a staggering 35,265 visitors in the month of Chaitra alone, according to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP).
During this timeframe, 79,232 tourists from South Asian nations and 97,950 tourists from other countries explored the main trekking routes of the Annapurna region, as stated by Dr. Ravin Kadel, head of the organizing committee. Dr. Kadel highlighted the months of Ashad to Kartik and Chaitra to Baisakh as prime trekking seasons, noting that while Indian tourists often gravitate towards destinations like Muktinath, travelers from diverse countries also show keen interest in trekking.

The Annapurna Circuit route remains a magnet for tourists from across the globe, with 191,558 visitors from 173 countries trekking in the region in 2023, marking an increase from previous years. This surge is notable, considering that 181,000 tourists visited the area in 2019.
The Annapurna Circuit route is one of the world's premier destinations, attributing its appeal to features such as majestic snow-capped peaks, tourist-friendly amenities, favorable weather conditions, warm local hospitality, and comprehensive service facilities. ACAP underscores the accessibility of various trekking options in the Annapurna region, spanning short, medium, and long routes across Kaski, Lamjung, Manang, and Myagdi.
Encompassing 7,000 square kilometers, the Annapurna Conservation Area comprises 89 wards across 16 local governments in Kaski, Lamjung, Manang, Myagdi, and Mustang. Renowned for its natural splendor, biodiversity, Himalayan way of life, and rich cultural tapestry, the Annapurna region entices both domestic and international tourists alike.
