Birendra Bhakta Gajun Shrestha of Madhyapurthimi-5 has grazed the city while having his tongue pierced.

Birendra Bhakta Gajun Shrestha of Madhyapurthimi-5 has grazed the city while having his tongue pierced. On the occasion of Yenya i.e. Indra Jatra, he pierced his tongue in front of Digu Bhairav Temple in Madhyapurthimi on Saturday night.

He marched around a half-moon-shaped vessel with 17 lamps after piercing his tongue with a ten-inch-long needle. The "Yenya Punhiya Mey Pwaah Khanegu Jatra" (Tongue Piercing Jatra), which commemorates Thimima, is concluded. In the temple, Jamanah (Guru) had placed soil from the Nasadyaah (Nityanath) complex in the hole of the tongue. It is anticipated that it will heal swiftly and won't create any sores. After placing the soil, people unwind in the nearby Mahadev Pati.

According to tradition, after Virendra Bhakta asked the original craftsman Ram Bhakta Nakarmi to make a natu (needle) for tongue piercing three weeks ago, the nakarmi prepared a tongue piercing needle and dipped it in pure mustard oil. Arjun Shrestha, a Sanskritist from the area, carried out the sadhana of Balkumari by offering the sacrifice of a red rooster and bringing in Dya: Dusalegu, the deity, eight days ago.

A day before the Jatra, "Choilbhu" was performed and a red rooster was sacrificed and feasted at Balkumari. It is a tradition that a person who pierces his tongue fasts all day and does not speak to anyone. After performing puja with Balkumari, a half-moon-shaped Mahadeep (bhye) is made. The temple is encircled and illuminated in the evening, from Balkumari to Digubhairav._RSS
