Under the project of Clean Energy Project, the station and the solar plant that powers the station has been constructed

The country's largest charging station has been constructed and made operational in Lumbini. Under the project of Clean Energy Project and with the grant assistance of the Asian Development Bank Isaka Electric Company of Japan has constructed the station and the solar plant that can generate the electricity for the charging station. 
With the testing of the charging station under construction at Lumbini successful, both the charging station and the solar plant meant to generate the solar power for the station came into operation. According to the Lumbini Development Fund, large buses, cars, and electric auto-rickshaws will also be charged at the ready charging station.

The solar plant installed here can generate 154 kilowatts of electricity. The solar-powered electric bus charging station is the largest in Nepal. With the success of system checking, testing, and commissioning, the charging station has been handed over to Lumbini Development Fund. According to the development fund, electric rickshaws running at the local level have started coming here to charge.

It has the capability of charging 16 vehicles at a time. Out of 16 chargers connected here, 13 chargers have a capacity of 7 kW. 3 are fast charger connections. These three chargers will be able to charge one device supporting 80 kWh and two devices supporting 40 kWh at a time.
There is another section to the charging station meant to handle about 75 electric rickshaws at a time. Similarly, nine charging points have been set up at Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa. The airport has eight chargers for 80 kWh and 40 kWh vehicles.
