The Second Nepali Professionals' Summit in Berlin served as a vital platform for fostering connections and leveraging the expertise of Nepali professionals residing in Germany. Co-organized by the Embassy of Nepal and GIZ, the event aimed to facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration within the Nepali Diaspora community.
The inauguration by Ambassador Ram Kaji Khadka and GIZ Country Manager Florain Krins highlighted Germany's attractiveness as a destination for Nepali professionals and the potential for increased opportunities following amendments to Germany's Skilled Migration Act.

Nepal's efforts to encourage Diaspora engagement, including initiatives like the National Brain Gain Centre and amendments to citizenship laws, were emphasized. Panel discussions covered diverse topics such as maximizing Diaspora contributions beyond remittances, gender mainstreaming, and the post-COVID tourism landscape in Nepal.
Presentations showcased programs facilitating Diaspora involvement, with a call for regular similar events to bolster expertise and contribute to Nepal's socio-economic progress.
The summit witnessed notable participation from government officials and professionals across sectors, emphasizing the significance of Diaspora engagement for national development. Approximately 70 Nepali professionals based in Germany actively participated, indicating strong interest and commitment to contributing to Nepal's advancement.
