The health ministers of Singapore and Malaysia have been engaging in dialogue to resume travel completely between the two countries. After 2 years of establishing heavy travel restrictions to contain the COVID-19 outbreak, both countries aim to resume air and land travel for fully vaccinated individuals.
Malaysian Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin declared that Malaysia is set to reopen its borders to fully-vaccinated individuals from the 1st of April. Singapore too made an earlier statement this month, indicating the same.
Malaysia and Singapore allowed visits between the two nations in November by both, air and land, back in November. However, this remained on a limited quota basis. Now that the pandemic has eased, they set their ambitions to encourage full scale travel and tourism again.
