The PATA Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM) 2025, which began on 3rd June, continues today with strong momentum, marking a highly effective and productive gathering of tourism stakeholders from around the world. Organised by the PATA Nepal Chapter in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board and key partners, the event is positioning Nepal at the forefront of sustainable and experiential tourism in the Himalayan region.

The inaugural ceremony featured the arrival of the Chief Guest, Hon. Mr. Badri Prasad Pandey, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Nepal, who formally inaugurated the event by lighting the traditional Nepali lamp. Attendees were treated to a vibrant cultural showcase representing the unity and diversity of Nepal’s seven provinces, followed by a powerful keynote address by tourism pioneer Mr. Karna Sakya.


Over the past two days, the event has hosted a series of plenary sessions under the theme “Mountains, Milestones & Momentum”, with expert moderation by Ms. Sharanjit Leyl. Prominent figures such as Mr. Andrew Jones, Mr. Shahid Hamid, Ms. Nisha Adhikari, and Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi shared critical insights on sustainable tourism, adventure travel, cross-sector collaboration, and market trends.

Further discussions explored themes such as spiritual tourism, cross-sector synergies, luxury travel, and biodiversity conservation, with speakers from various sectors including hospitality, conservation, adventure tourism, and international consulting. Presentations by Mr. Daniel Tshudy, Ms. Cécile Hermetz, Mr. Basu Dhungana, and Dr. Ghanshyam Gurung added depth to the dialogue, while the promotion of new destinations like ‘Jugal’ brought fresh perspectives.

The Buyers-Sellers Meet held on the second day provided an energetic B2B platform, fostering connections between international travel buyers and Nepali tourism suppliers. Delegates have also engaged in informal meetings and impactful conversations during networking breaks, making this year’s HTM one of the most productive to date.
HTM 2025, which began on 3rd June, concludes today, 5th June. However, it will continue to serve as a vital platform for sharing knowledge, fostering partnerships, and promoting Nepal as a premier destination rooted in cultural richness and natural beauty. The event is set to close with renewed commitments to tourism development and climate-conscious cooperation across the region.
