The government has announced that from March 14, COVID-19 vaccination passport will no longer be required to access indoor areas like cafeterias, restaurants, cinemas, stadiums, fairs, etc.

Seeing the rest of the world open back up with the global air travel and tourism industry poised to rise to pre-pandemic levels, the French authorities have announced that it will relax some of the restrictions after evaluating that its circumstances are better for some measures to be lifted.

Seeing the fifth wave of COVID-19 in France subside with health institutions and personnel not as strained as before, the government has announced that from March 14, COVID-19 vaccination passport will no longer be required to access indoor areas like cafeterias, restaurants, cinemas, stadiums, fairs, etc. But the caveat is that the vaccination pass is still required to visit places like hospital entrances, establishments for the disabled and elderly to protect and ensure the safety of vulnerable groups from the virus.

The government has elucidated that these caveats and the obligations to carry passes will also be removed soon when there are no ICU patients for COVID-19 and if there is no cancellation of procedures and no new variant in the upcoming months. While they are not able to give an exact date, they hope to abolish the pass altogether before July if the situation improves.

In addition to this, the obligation to carry a face mask in indoor spaces will also be removed with only public transport needing people to wear a face mask.
