Two hundred and eleven thousand four hundred and two rupees were collected in the donation box kept in the Everest restaurant operated by Sherpa in the capital Lisbon, two hundred and thirty-seven thousand and five hundred and ninety-eight rupees were collected in Portugal, one hundred and fifty-one thousand rupees were personally provided by Sherpa and six hundred and fifty-five rupees were collected in Belgium. A total of Rs 12 lakh 55 thousand six hundred 14 has been provided to the monastery management committee.
Funds have been collected in Portugal and Belgium on the initiative and activity of Sherpa and Wangel Lama, who are also advisors of the monastery.
Dhanraj Sherpa, the coordinator of the support collection committee, informed “The money collected is sent to the monastery management committee through remittance. After the money was insufficient to complete the construction of the monastery under construction, funds were collected by conducting a campaign to collect support for migration.”
