A 14-year-old boy with kidney disease from Piparahi of Rajbiraj Municipality-13 in Saptari returned home by overcoming coronavirus.
The boy was discharged on Saturday evening following his 12-day stay in the isolation care. He was suspected to have contracted the virus while returning home after treatment in the Delhi-based AIMS Hospital, India. It was decided to discharge him after the coronavirus test report of the child came negative. The test was conducted at the laboratory of Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj.
As said by hospital's officiating medical superintendent Dr Ranajeet Kumar Jha, the child's mother, 40, was discharged along with him. The mother said she was much worried about her son's health as he was already a kidney patient and on the top that he was infected with the virus. Her experience is that patience and confidence worked a lot in their cases to beat the virus.
However, the mother and son developed no serious symptoms. They were tested positive for the virus after 14 days in the Rajbiraj-based quarantine. Their latest tests were conducted on Friday. The child said he was determined that he should overcome the virus and as he believed, this spirit worked positively in his case.
Others getting discharged with them were also the returnees from India. To date, Saptari reports 71 out of 158 recovery cases. Of the infected, 12 are women.
