Aloft Kathmandu Thamel is excited to announce the successful completion of its ‘Road to Give’ Walkathon, held on 5 October 2024. This event, a part of Marriott International’s global "Road to Give" initiative, raised vital funds for local charitable organizations such as Pabitra Samaj Sewa, The Orphans Homes, and Oxsa Nepal Animal Welfare Society, all of which have been affected by the recent floods in Nepal. "Road to Give" is Marriott’s signature charity run, hosted annually across the world by participating hotels, with the mission of bringing communities together to raise awareness and support for important causes. It reflects Marriott’s commitment to giving back in a meaningful way through local and global events.
‘Road to Give’ (RTG) is a global charity run initiated by Marriott International under the Serve360 program, which is committed to enhancing the communities in which it operates. This initiative emphasizes sustainable development and resilience through support for children, environmental conservation, and disaster relief. The walkathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local community and was a remarkable success in fostering unity and giving back.
An impressive crowd gathered early at Aloft Kathmandu Thamel to begin the walkathon, which led participants through the streets of Naxal. The walk was a powerful display of solidarity with those affected by the floods. Participants included hotel guests, local residents, and community members, all walking together to raise awareness and contribute to the recovery efforts.
“We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support and participation we received,” said Vikram Singh, General Manager of Aloft Kathmandu Thamel. “The ‘Road to Give’ Walkathon demonstrates the power of community and the difference we can make when we come together. The funds raised will play a crucial role in helping flood victims rebuild their lives, as well as supporting animal welfare efforts.”
The event concluded with a small ceremony at Chhaya Center's courtyard, where participants were recognized for their contributions. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of solidarity, compassion, and hope for the recovery of flood-affected families.
