The Nepal Tourism Board celebrated its 26th anniversary, emphasizing policy reforms, international promotion, digital marketing, and stakeholder collaboration to enhance Nepal's tourism sector, with key government officials outlining plans for sustainable growth and recovery post-Covid.

Nepal Tourism Board celebrated its 26th anniversary and issued directives to enhance international promotion and digital marketing efforts.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey has said that the government is working towards a policy transformation to guide Nepal's overall tourism. Speaking on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the Nepal Tourism Board, Minister Pandey said that the government is preparing a new tourism policy keeping in mind the need for a tourism-friendly policy for tourism development and that a new policy will be released soon. He directed the Tourism Board to adopt the concept of Public Private Partnership (PPP) and effectively advance international promotion programs and emphasize digital marketing.”Nepal is multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious, It is a country with multicultural and geographical diversity. The need of the day is to develop and expand the tourism sector by preserving unity, tolerance and harmony among this diversity. Nepal has its own original tourism product. It needs to be widely promoted in the international market,” he said. 

Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Arun Kumar Chaudhary said that Nepal’s economic development can be achieved through the development and expansion of the tourism industry, adding that cooperation of all stakeholders is necessary for this. Board Chairman and Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Dr. Ganesh Prasad Panda said that the board should emphasize on the extensive use of technology along with the development of infrastructure and the development of human resources required for tourism.

 

Board of Directors member of Nepal Tourism Board ,Rishi Bhandari said, the Nepal Tourism Board, which has the main responsibility of tourism promotion, should be made dynamic by taking all stakeholders along with it. 

Nepal Tourism Board Executive Chief Deepak Raj Joshi opined that Nepal's tourist arrivals are gradually returning to normal and Nepal's tourism will be more prosperous in the coming days. He informed that 97% recovery has been seen in the global environment after Covid and 1.15 million tourists visited Nepal in 2024, indicating that Nepal has also seen a 96%  recovery after Covid. 

Kundan Mishra, President of the Nepal Tourism Board Employees' Organization, urged the organization to take the necessary policy reforms for internal strengthening. 

The program also saw the release of the annual mouthpiece InFocus published by the board and awards and certificates given to the winners and runners-up of various sports programs organized on the occasion of the anniversary.
