It is considered good for every person to worship Amla on this day as Amrit is obtained from the Amla plant. While worshiping Amala, one should face east and worship with water, sandalwood, Akshata, flowers, etc. After performing the puja, the amla tree is circled with a yellow thread.
Amla is considered an elixir used as an Ayurvedic medicine. Amla is one of the three herbs required for making Triphala Churna. According to the Padma Purana, the Dwapara Yuga began on the day of Kartik Shukla Navami. On this day, Lord Vishnu killed a demon named Kushmand, so this day is called Kushmand Navami. Since Kuvindo was born from the body of the Kushmanda Daitya, donating Kuvindo on this day will give you endless benefits.
According to Pandit Balamukunda Devkota, A person who donates kuvindo, gold, silver, yellow cloth, and sesame seeds in a copper vessel will get the desired fruit. On the occasion of Kushmanda Navami, a fair is held at Kushmanda lake in Makwanpur district today.
