The Tourism Authority of Thailand has launched its 'Visit Thailand in 2022: Amazing New Chapters' in Nepal in order to attract any affluent Nepal tourists and travellers looking for a destination to travel to. This has been in conjunction with the recent loosening of travel restrictions in Thailand.
Nepali entrepreneurs in response to this new tourism campaign have urged the Thai government to make it easier to visit Thailand by easing the visa processing, remove the requirement of COVID-19 insurance policy currently in place and increase the frequency of flights between the two countries for mutual benefit between the countries.
Right now the fully vaccinated travellers do not need to quarantine and take preliminary PCR test. But there is a lot of hurdles with visitors needing to be vaccinated for more than 14 days from a vaccine approved by the government or the WHO, they must wait in a hotel for a day until their PCR test comes negative after entering the country and they must possess the above-mentioned COVID-19 insurance policy with coverage of at least 20,000$.
