Flights from Taplejung's Suketar Airport have been suspended for a week
Due to unfavourable weather conditions, all flights have been suspended for a week at the Suketar Airport. Flights had been cancelled last Friday and Saturday due to inclement weather as well.
Passengers who had booked tickets for Kathmandu have had to change their plans after frequent disruptions to the flight's schedules. The Nepal Airlines Corporation has stated that there is a lot of pressure on airlines due to the current tourist season, and that the irregularity of flights is disrupting the commute and travel experience of tourists. Passengers have been further affected by the non-availability of regular flights this season, putting pressure on alternative forms of transport.
Nepal Airlines Corporation has been operating flights at Suketar Airport for three days per week - every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Suketar Airport, the flights will be affected until the weather improves.
