Skal International Nepal jointly organises a Car Rally with Nepal Tourism Board to promote the spirit of tourism festivity from December 6 to 8

Skal, with its headquarter in Torremolinos, Spain is the International Organization of Global Tourism
Professionals promoting global tourism and networking. It is the only international association uniting all
branches of the travel and tourism industry with over 15000 members globally, functioning through 400
clubs at local levels-governed and administered to ‘Do Business Among Friends’.

Skal Nepal has 66 independent members from diverse tourism backgrounds including National Tourism
Organisation (Nepal Tourism Board), hotels and travel/trekking companies along with airlines and
adventure companies. Apart from regular interactions between the members, Skal Nepal is also actively
involved in social activities, heritage conservation programs and environmental sustainability.

This year, Nepal has been proudly featured as ‘Destination of the Year 2020’ in Skal International,
reaching to the wider tourism counterparts scattered across the globe. In its official website, Nepal is
marked as the most sought-after destination and highlights the best travel experience to offer to global
visitors.

To promote the spirit of tourism festivity, Skal Nepal and Nepal Tourism Board is jointly organizing a Car
Rally from December 6 to 8. The rally will cover three famous destinations; Kathmandu, Chitwan and
Pokhara also known as the Golden Triangle. En-route, Skal Nepal members will also meet with local
entrepreneurs for inclusive interaction and experience sharing.

Road travel in Nepal is the most cherished journey as it directly touches the lives of our residents and
directly impacts the socio-economic condition of our citizens. It’s the best way to experience the
country’s social diversity; to immerse yourselves in the terrains and lowlands, while moving through
endless stretches of greenery and flowing rivers.

Around 20-25 members are participating in this car rally, traveling via their own vehicles. The main goal
of this rally is to raise awareness of road safety rules while helping Nepal garner more attention in the
international media.

The Vice-President of Skal International Nepal, Mahendra Raj Paudel said, “Generally we hear that the
roads of Nepal are very dangerous and that is often the case in many mountainous paths, but in the hilly
region it is not so. We want to show that while the roads are not in the best of conditions, it is travelable
and fun too. Many tour-operators share that the roads of Nepal are an adventure but without having
experienced it the words have little meaning. By travelling, we make sure that we can offer the best
services to tourists.”

With amazing views, technical assistants and check points along the way, the rally is set to make the
event entertaining and vibrant.
