Akashe Taal discovered in Jumla's Guthichaur rural municipality-1 by shepherds

Local shepherds discovered Akashe Taal at 4,700 metres above sea level while hunting for missing yaks. The lake is situated at a one-and-a-half day's worth of walking from Manisanghu's Ward 1.

It wasn’t the first lake discovered by shepherds as Hiulsa Lake, located at an elevation of 4,300 metres, and Dudh Kundali Lake, 4,000 metres above sea level, were both discovered by them seven years ago.

Local resident Sange Gurung said, "It was not easy to reach the lake, so its existence remained unexplored."

Gurung claims that the Tibetan name for the Sky Lake is "Mhangwa Yunzo." The lake is called Sky Lake because of its unified colour.

The lake lies in the lap of Dudh Kundali mountain and is surrounded by green trees and has black rock downstream.

Ward chairperson Arjun Kumar Mahatara claimed that the lake has a high potential for luring both domestic and foreign tourists in the future. _Rss
