With the announcement of Australia fully reopening its borders to fully vaccinated travellers from Feb 21, Tourism Australia, the government body responsible for tourism, has released a new tourism campaign to rejuvenate the Australian tourism sector after one of the harshest travel restrictions and measures in the world.
This decision by Tourism Australia builds upon the quarantine-free travel agreements Australia had made with Singapore in November, quickly followed by South Korea and Japan a month later. Travellers who are not fully vaccinated will still have to apply for travel exemption to enter Australia and will be subject to quarantine requirements. But the reopening of the borders has marked a significant step to recovery for the tourism package.
As part of the new campaign, Tourism Australia will be working with a range of key distribution and airline partners to drive booking and drive recovery for Australia’s hard-hit tourism economy by providing tactical offers aimed at stimulating travel to Australia from the UK.
