Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale emphasises upon the importance of keeping Nepal’s airports up and running in a smooth condition.
While welcoming the two board members of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) at a board meeting today, he urged all members to keep the airport in a safer and more efficient condition.
Former Director General Triratna Manandhar and Roshana Chitrakar are among the newly appointed members. Minister Ale, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of NEA, directed all the office bearers including the newly appointed members to work for the benefit of the Civil Aviation Authority.
Stating that a civilian had entered the ship through the security cordon at Tribhuvan International Airport a few weeks ago, he stressed the need to tighten the security arrangements. He said, "Airport is a very sensitive area. Security should be strengthened to prevent non-persons from entering."
Similarly, Minister Ale also requested to mobilise additional teams to conduct regular patrols in the perimeter of the airport as it has been heard that wild beasts, foxes, and ships are having problems in various airports of Nepal recently.
He also directed to deploy a separate staff for immediate response and reply to such tweets as there were various comments on Twitter regarding the delay in the landing of the ship at Tribhuvan International Airport and problems in landing due to visibility a few days ago.
Minister Ale also directed the NEA officials to disseminate information about the condition of the airport to the daily citizens.
