KMC to promote Indrajatra

In order to promote Indrajatra, a traditional festival of Kathmandu, Kathmandu Metropolitan City has invited the chiefs and deputy chiefs from the capital cities of 7 South Asian countries.

The Kumari Rath Yatra will begin on Friday, September 9, as part of the Indra Jatra. On Saturday, September 10, the chariot will be moved to different places.

On the 14th of September, only women pull chariots. For the past 11 years, it has been a tradition to pull only women for 1 day.

Sunita Dangol, Deputy Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, said that all related sectors should be active to make this Jatra a success and enhance the dignity of Kathmandu.
