After Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi jointly inaugurated the Jayanagar- Kurtha railway service on Saturday, locals are now able to make use of the fully operational rail service.

The train that left the station at 8.30 am on Sunday arrived the same day in Janakpur at 10.15 am.

Moreover, the Director-General of the Nepal Railway Company, Niranjan Jha shared that the first rail that reached Janakpur was packed with passengers on both, the ordinary and AC seats. Jha also mentioned that the railway service is smooth and runs regularly on its scheduled time. The train comes and goes twice a day; leaving from Jaynagar at 8.30am and 3.00pm, and leaving Kurtha at 10.30am and 5.15pm on a daily basis.

Sanjaya Jha, a local youth, also expressed his confidence in the railway service, stating that the areas in and around Janakpur will transform in the next few years due to the increased accessibility that is to come with the smooth operation of the railway service. He anticipates that the area will witness a huge inflow of religious tourists, and that local production will gain more profits through increased demands in the market.
