Flight checks are now being run for the third runway in Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) starting 26th March 2022.
These checks represent verification procedures related to air navigation service equipment, flight procedures and airfield ground lighting systems in the stands of the ICAO- the commencement of which projects completion in April 2022.
The new third runway will be designated as the North Runway (07L/25R) and is to be put into operation later this year.
As of now, the pavement works of the North Runway have reached full completion, while the infrastructural facilities including taxiways, airfield ground lighting systems, and rescue/ fire fighting facilities are substantially completed.
