A fire broke out on Monday in Kuwait International Airport. Authorities have mentioned that the fire occurred in the new terminal of the airport which is currently under construction.
Firefighters struggled to control the flames and the extent of damage is still unknown. Interior Ministry spokesman Tawheed al-Kandari also mentioned that the cause of the fire was not immediately known and therefore resulted in the escalation of the situation.
As of now, photos of dark, foreboding smoke behind the lines of planes on the runway have been circulating on social media. Some flights have been delayed by the Civil Aviation Authorities, however, not as a result of the fire.
