Starting February 4, Bali will allow visitors with a short five-day quarantine

Indonesia is all set to reopen Bali to foreign visitors. As per the reports, Bali will welcome fully-vaccinated visitors from February 4 and the quarantine period will also be shorter this time. This move comes as the country seeks to sustain economic recovery and revive tourism.
The nation will be lifting a ban on all foreign arrivals also on February 4, and will be minimising the quarantine period from seven days to five days for fully vaccinated foreigners. This turn of events was informed by Luhut Panjaitan, Cabinet Minister, who also oversees the government’s pandemic response. However, those who have taken only one shot of COVID-19 vaccine will, however, have to undergo a 7-day quarantine.
Dotted with beaches and temples, this famous tourist destination started a limited reopening in October but, during that time, a 10-day quarantine was required, an international health insurance, and a visa with a local sponsor was also necessary, which did not interest much of the visitors. Referring to this, Wiku Adisasmito, spokesperson of the country’s COVID-19 task force, stated that from February 4, visitors will be able to use direct or connecting international flights to visit the island.
However, details of other requirements such as getting a visa with a local sponsor, requirement of an international health insurance, will be addressed by a separate regulation soon, he added.
