The season of spring brings hope anew, and what better place than the ever-surreal Ladakh to experience this. According to social media post by the Department of Tourism, Ladakh, you may soon be able to witness the beauty and serenity of the Apricot Blossom Festival in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
A visual treat for travellers, the festival is being held from April 13 - April 22. As per the Department of Tourism, Ladakh, the theme for this year’s Apricot Blossom Festival is Chuli Mentok 2022. Apricot is popularly known as Chuli in Ladakh. Like the very popular Cherry Blossom Festival of Japan, Ladakh will offer a similar experience. The apricot fruit was introduced in the region way back in the old days when Ladakh was a popular Silk Route destination.
The festival is being held in Leh and Kargil. In Leh, you can indulge in the festivities in Domkhar Dho, Achinathang, Skuru, and Tertsey. In Kargil, the festival is being held in Garkhone, Sanjak, and Karkichu.
