The Nepal-India Jamunaha border point in Nepalgunj is being closed for 60 hours from this evening. Superintendent of Police (SP) in Banke, Shyam Krishna Adhikari, said the border point is being fully closed because of the state assembly polls in the Indian districts of Uttar Pradesh.

According to SP Adhikari, the border point would remain closed until 6:00 am on Monday from 6:00 pm this evening. During the time, trans-border human mobility and vehicular movement would be completely stopped.

This has been following closures in Jhulaghat transit points in Baitadi and Lali, Joljibi, Dattu, Khalanga, Tigram and Sitapul transit points in Darchula for four days due to election security sensitivity.
