The Bisket Jatra was enthusiastically celebrated by the local residents of Madhyapur Thimi, who embraced the festive spirit by adorning themselves with a traditional orange-red sindoor.

This vibrant and lively festival involves the procession of idols representing various deities through the streets and villages of Madhyapur Thimi, attended by joyous festivities centered around the use of tika or sindoor. While traditionally the Jatra highlighted 32 elaborately decorated chariots, the current reputation consists of 23 chariots stationed in Thimi, with additional ones located in Nagadesh, Bode, and Tigani. A charming and cherished aspect of the event is the custom of sprinkling sindoor/tika from the windows and rooftops of homes, complemented by the showering of fragrant flowers upon the passing chariots as they navigate through chowks and intersections.
Participation in the Jatra includes the playful application of sindoor/tika on each other's faces, symbolizing harmony and unity among the participants. The procession, led by the Naike Pradhan (chief or leader), embarks on its journey from Balkumati to Digutole, signifying the beginning of the festivities and the community's collective celebration of tradition and culture.
