Enjoy your travel keeping these tips and suggestions in mind during the pandemic
Many of us enjoy travelling. But, we are avoiding it due to the fear of COVID. COVID is making our days quite tough, especially when we travel. If travelling is what we truly yearn for, why are we letting COVID prevent us from doing so?
Whether we are travelling domestically or internationally, we should all take precautions to avoid COVID. Many nations have already begun to enact laws and regulations concerning COVID. We should also prepare ourselves mentally and physically before travelling. Here are some tips and suggestions for making your travel safe from COVID:
Keep physical distance and maintain ventilation
Keeping a distance of at least 2 to 1 metre while waiting in queues anywhere, helps you to stay safe from COVID while travelling. Try to avoid crowded areas and indoor places which have low ventilation. If you are in a bus, car or in any vehicle, open windows to increase ventilation. Do so even in hotels or any accommodation.
Wear masks and be vaccinated
Make sure to wear masks that fully cover your nose and mouth every time you step outside, and carry alcohol-based hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes with you. Before travelling to any destination, make sure you are vaccinated. Try to cover when you cough or sneeze, and keep your hands clean. Remember to take the card they give after you have been vaccinated as it helps a lot for entering places, like some hotels and restaurants.
Know the symptoms
If you are feeling unwell, try to avoid travelling and try not to come in contact with others, putting their health at risk. If you or others have symptoms of COVID, report to medical authorities as soon as possible. Don’t forget to take the required test before travelling to any destination so that it would be better for yourself and the people around you. Avoid contact with anyone who is sick or shows symptoms. Also, avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose.
Know the restrictions
Wherever you are travelling, follow local, national and international health and travel advice. Check the local requirements, restrictions and the situation at your destination, such as wearing masks, getting tested, being vaccinated or staying in quarantine for some period of time. Try not to touch frequently touched surfaces because touching such surfaces can transfer the virus to you.
Be prepared
Always be prepared, especially for the worst. Carry the essentials, such as masks and hand sanitizers, if you are travelling to a location far from your home. If you become ill with the COVID, try to contact a nearby hospital or medical authorities to get the necessary help. If you experience any symptoms, try to avoid coming into contact with other people.
Try to follow all the rules and regulations made by the local authorities on restrictions for COVID. Happy travelling!
