4, Dec 2022 | nepaltraveller.com

The exhibition highlighted a seamless marriage of the sustainable fashion line ABIR's merchandise with the narrative creations of competent artists.

On December 2, four artists—Anamika Gautam, Namrata Singh, Rukumani Shrestha, and Sarita Dongol—in collaboration with the team of ABiR, a designer hub, commenced a ten-day exhibition themed "Hidden Expression."

Bibhakar Shakya inaugurated the exhibition, and he floated the notion to emphasise that the status of Nepal's art is progressively evolving and artists are now steadily acquiring the recognition they rightfully deserved, which has paved the way for the progress of artists of the next generation.

The exhibition showcased sustainable designer products by ABiR, a sustainable Nepali brand, and the beautiful narrative arts by the artists.

Bini Bajracharya, a member of the ABiR team, stated at the event that "the exhibition intends to endorse the platform to stimulate the adoption of eco-friendly merchandise spawned in Nepal, including knitting and crochet crafted by Nepali women."

Freelancing illustrator, visual artist and poet; Anamika Gautam portrayed the importance of mental health, significance of support and love for each individual through each of her narrative creations.

Namrata Singh used ornate textures, contrast lines, and a vibrant yet soothing colour palette in her artwork to explore her own Mithila culture and legacy. Her creations depict the radiance and elegance of Mithila culture.

Rukumani Shrestha, a visual artist from Bhaktapur, exhibited art depicting the painful sobbing of Nepalese women wailing in agony over various political and religious topics.

Sarita Dangol - visual artist focused on nature, the destruction of nature, and its interrelationship with humans and society. Inspired by nature and fascinated by her own Newari culture, she presents her inner expression through art featuring chillies.
