Tikapur Park: A Royal Legacy

At the heart of Tikapur lies the renowned Tikapur Park, also known as Tikapur Great Garden. Spanning over 84 bighas (approximately 57 hectares), this park was established during the reign of King Mahendra as a retreat for relaxation. The park boasts beautifully manicured lawns, a diverse array of seasonal and non-seasonal flowers, and tranquil walking paths. As Tikapur is situated along the Karnali River, it offers scenic views and a peaceful environment, making it a popular spot for picnics and leisurely strolls.

Karnali River Dolphins: Rare Encounters in Nature

Did you know that the Karnali River is one of the few places in Nepal where you can spot freshwater dolphins?

These endangered Ganges river dolphins are a rare and magical sight. Tikapur is one of the best places to see them in the wild. Conservationists and tourists alike visit the riverbanks for a chance to catch a glimpse of these gentle creatures as they surface for air.

Efforts are growing to preserve this species and eco-tourism centered around dolphin watching is gradually gaining popularity. It’s an enriching experience that also supports environmental conservation.
