Tatopani has held the belief that nature provides a cure for many conditions for centuries.
Located in the peaceful Myagdi district of Nepal, Tatopani is a village famed for its rejuvenating hot springs. The word "Tatopani," which means "hot water" in Nepali, refers to the rich supply of geothermal springs in the area, a natural wonder that brings thousands of tourists there each year. Myagdi is a paradise for hot springs, with some of the most popular including Bhurung, Dagnaam, Gogar, Singha, and Gurja, each offering a unique retreat into nature’s healing powers.
Among these, Singha Tatopani Kunda stands as a remarkable destination. Revered for its curative properties, the hot water, naturally maintained at 50°C is believed to cure disease ranging from joint pain, skin conditions, gastritis, and nerve issues, to swelling and goiter. For many years, both locals and tourists have trusted these hot springs' healing powers. Its unique scent, which is symbolic of birch bark, heightens the sensory experience and immerses guests in a natural treatment.
The Kunda is designed thoughtfully, with three distinct tanks, capable of accommodating 300 bathers simultaneously. Though it may seem isolated, the spring draws 500–1,000 visitors a day during peak seasons, especially from September to April, when many come seeking solace from the stress of daily life and healing. The entry fee is Rs 150, a small token to experience what many describe as a life-changing immersion in the pools.
Tatopani is not just for springtime. It is an experience. The village itself is about 297 kilometers from Kathmandu and approximately nine kilometers from Beni, the district capital of Myagdi. The trip itself is an amazing experience, filled with sights of incredible scenery of mountains and the peaceful Kali Gandaki River.
For centuries, Tatopani has held the belief that nature provides a cure for many conditions. Not only does the water have healing properties for visitors, but the village's soothing atmosphere, its residents' warmth, and the stunning surroundings of the Myagdi district also do.
Take a bath at Tatopani, but stay for more. Visit for healing, peace of mind, and soul-nourishing time spent in nature.
