A Soothing Experience at Zen Spa

Zen Spa offers one of the most relaxing therapies in town, completely lightening up your body and mind.

Like a hidden gem, in the midst of the evergreen streets of Thamel, lies Zen Spa. After discovering this unseen jewel, I was lured by its magical sweet and tingly fragrance. Upon entering, I could already feel myself at peace from within. With light decorations and a small room fountain, I could sense my mind loosening up and beginning to feel at ease. The silence was complemented only by a serene music and the sound of the ever-flowing water.

I was welcomed with a cup of refreshing green herbal tea while I awaited the preparations for my therapy. As I enjoyed every sip of my tea, I went through the list of therapies they offered. In addition to their remedial and relaxing massages, they also provide hair treatments, facial treatments and nail treatments. Of the myriad types of therapies I could choose from, they recommended me their ‘Deep Tissue Massage’- a perfect remedy to loosen up from the entire day of hectic schedule.

I got escorted to one of the massage rooms. The subdued lighting of the room was really satisfying.

My therapy began with the masseuse giving me a full body massage, gently crackling all my bones, immediately making my body feel relaxed and comfortable. Then, she started massaging my legs with soothing warm oil.  She asked me several times if her pressure was alright to make sure I was comfortable. She used her fingers, palms and elbows to effectively unwind all the tension in my muscles. She switched to my upper body, and honestly, it was the most relieving back massage I had ever received. Slowly with her soft hands, she applied pressure in all the right places. My body immediately

She ended the therapy with a head massage and another full body press. 60 minutes felt like just a few moments for me. It was extremely satisfying, yet I wish I had more minutes of this relaxing treatment. I felt light weighted as if all my stress had been washed away by the remedial oil. It was definitely a memorable experience and a must try for all.
