The ever-smiling faces of the locals, their customs, and the dense rhododendron forest keep you extremely pleased during the trek.
Khopra trek is a less crowded trek with spectacular vistas of terraced fields, traditional villages, fast-flowing rivers, lush woods, and awe-inspiring mountain panoramas, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna (I, II, III, and south), Himchuli, Macchapuchhre, Lamjung Himal, and Nilgiri. This is a newly explored trail in the Annapurna area.
Khopra Trek, also known as Khopra Ridge Trek, Khopra Danda Trek, or Khayar Lake Trek, is a famous off-the-beaten-track trek. This is a really excellent trek for trekkers who have a very limited length of time to travel around 10 days yet wish to trek in a solitary region. The prominent Hindu religious attraction, Khayar Lake is also located in this region, above 4500m.
Khayar Lake trekking is a hard walk in itself. The ever-smiling faces of the locals, their customs, and the dense rhododendron forest keep you extremely pleased during the trek.
The months of March to June and September to November are the best for trekking to Annapurna Khopra since they are least dangerous in this season. Khopra Trek, which included all parts of the landscape’s natural beauty, culture, and religion. This is good for beginner trekkers who like some adventure.
The trip starts with a beautiful ride via Pokhara, Nayapul, and Syauli Bazar before arriving at Kimche. From Kimche, the trek will begin towards the Gurung settlement of Ghandruk. The next morning, after spending the night in Ghandruk, we head to Bayli Kharka, passing Tadapani route. The route taken in this trek is a rarely used, off-the-beaten-path. A handful of the resorts in Bayli Kharka provide the trek a homey atmosphere.
We will arrive in Khopra Danda on the third day of the trek from Bayli Kharka. The route will go through timberline woods and Chistibang meadows. You can witness Dhaulagiri, Dhampus Peak, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, Annapurna I, and Annapurna South from the trails.
You have the option of seeing Khayar Lake after waking up at the Khopra Danda. The terrain is fairly steep, and will be trekking for almost five hours before returning to Khopra Danda. Then, the trek is done from Khopra Danda to Swanta village, which is famous for its community-run cheese production.
We trek from Swanta to Ghorepani the following day. However, we will cross Chittre village first, where we’ll join the well-known Annapurna Circuit Trekking trails, before arriving in Ghorepani.
On the final day of the trek, you will continue from Ghorepani and head up to Poon Hill, a popular viewpoint. Early in the morning, you can behold the sunrise turning the nearby mountains gold from Poon Hill. It is one of the most popular places for photography.
We travelled to Birethanti from Ghorepani after taking in the beautiful scenery from Poon Hill. We’ll go by bus through Nayapul to Pokhara from Birethanti. The trail terminates in Pokhara.
A nature enthusiast must at least once do the Khorpa Trek. This path is really welcoming and thrilling, but it's also relatively safe and simple compared to other treks in the area. It features lovely communities, kind people, stunning mountains, and spine-chilling steeps. Therefore, do visit if you ever want to get lost in the beauty of Mother Nature.
